The petition to place a 1% sales tax ballot measure on the April ballot has failed to acquire enough signatures, though there's an appeal in process that might change that.  Read more in the Courier.

UPDATE - The petitioners were given an extra week due to some technicality, and easily obtained the needed 22 extra signatures (they actually obtained 52 valid signatures).  This issue will be on the ballot in April.
